FAQ – How to Recycle Batteries
1. How do I get started?
A: Prior to BRME accepting all batteries for recycling, our Customer Profile Sheet must be completed. Because BRME is a Universal-Waste Battery Destination Facility, the US EPA requires that we help our customers properly identify tall batteries and assure that proper recycling and disposal measures are taken.
2. What battery types are accepted
A: BRME accepts all battery types for recycling.
3. Is BRME approved by the US EPA to recycle batteries?
A: Yes! In fact, BRME’s Battery Recycling Process, High Temperature Metal Reclamation (HTMR), is recognized by the US EPA as BDAT, Best Demonstrated Available Technology for Nickel-Cadmium Battery Recycling.
4. What are the Logistics & Shipping Guidelines?
A: BRME is equipped and supplies a national freight/logistics service. Freight and its associated expense is handled on a case-by-case basis.
5. Does BRME maintain insurance standards?
A: BRME maintains insurance standards that exceed Local, State and Federal guidelines and mandates. A copy of our Insurance Declaration Page (certificate) is available upon request.
6. What is your Environmental Health & Safety Policy?
A: Please download a copy of our Environmental Health and Safety Policy to find out more.
